Arrive at 6.30 for a 6.45pm prompt start. This will give you the opportunity to meet the Candidates for the East Sussex Council Elections and will be your chance to hear directly from those vying to represent you. The event invites members of the Sussex Weald constituency to attend a lively evening of election debate when you will also be given the chance to understand their priorities and plans, ask questions about issues that matter to you and your business. This is a free event, however a ticket is required from Eventbrite for one ticket per person, first come, first served. Please bring this with you for entry. There will be bag checks and doors will be closed at 6.45 sharp. Pre-submitted and audience questions will be put to candidates who will give opening statements, respond to key topics and deliver closing remarks. Free parking is available on site. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket so it can be reallocated. ‘SQUIRRELS’ GARDEN OPEN FOR CHARITY

In aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice. Entrance is by donation at The Street, Arlington, BN26 6RX. This is a medium-size garden with far reaching views to the Downs and the Long Man of Wilmington, with two cherry trees and a variety of Camellias and Azaleas. Along with many spring bulbs there is an herbaceous border and large fishpond. There will be refreshments. No dogs please, except assistance dogs. Parking Available at the local Arlington Village Hall which will be signposted.

Wellness event coming to Hailsham this summer

Following the success of their first wellness event last summer, Empowerment Coach, Sarah Ritchie and Head of Operations, Katie Bartholomew are expanding the event this year by popular request with a brand new location.

The vibrant one-day event, Olakino Together, will help people ‘press pause’ on the chaos of everyday life and rediscover what makes them feel good in mind, body, and soul.

Hosted at a brand new venue, Merriefields, Lower Dicker, East Sussex. A calming rural setting in a tranquil outside space, home to the yurt, The Circle of Opportunity. The wellness day is to be held on Saturday 13th June from 9.30am to 6pm and promises uplifting experiences, calming practices, and a joyful feeling of togetherness. 

Special features of the day include qigong, yoga & sound bath, EFT tapping, a creative workshop, empowerment workshop, nutritional therapy talk, sauna and cold plunge, joining with others around the fire pit circle and more, all accompanied by music, lunch and refreshments throughout the day. VIP packages are available which include additional therapy sessions, such as ancient head message, reflexology and reiki. 

Empowerment Coach Sarah Ritchie said, ‘We have designed the space to be welcoming for both those who are familiar with the wellness world and those who want to experience it for the first time, in a safe, non-judgemental setting. Our event is for anyone looking to feel rested, restored and rejuvenated.’
