THE ANNUAL FILM POSTER AUCTION at Hailsham Pavilion cinema and live events venue is on Saturday 24 October from 10am. Come and have some fun, bidding for your favourite film posters. They make ideal presents for anybody (and you) who has a favourite film. Catalogues will be available nearer the time, via Hailsham Pavilion website and from the Pavilion Box Office. This is a very popular event, some posters with great artwork can go for pennies and some for a considerable amount, so you could pick up a bargain or indulge. There is always a fun vibe with plenty of extras to pick up on the sales table.

OPEN MORNING: CHARLES HUNT CENTRE

CHARLES HUNT CENTRE OPEN MORNING is on Tuesday 20 October between 10am and 12pm at Vicarage Field, Hailsham, BN27 1BG.

Go along, join in some fun activities including table tennis and kurling, board games, live music and refreshments. Meet and chat to current members. Join the centre that morning for £5 for the rest of 2026. Book an appointment with the podiatry, nail technician or reiki providers. Enjoy fresh brewed coffee and freshly baked cakes and sweet treats. Take advantage of the open morning offer of a 2-course lunch for the members price of just £8, served at 12.30pm. TABLE SALE

RAILWAY CLUB TABLE SALE is on Saturday 24 October at the Union Corner Hall, Hawks Road, (next to the school) from 2 to 4pm. Come and pick up some bargains, Christmas gifts, pre-loved clothing, household items, plants and lots more.

The Railway Club is an over 55s Social Club held every Wednesday from 10am to 1pm at the old Free Church on Western Road. Tables are £10 bookable by email to cllr.annemarie.ricketts@hailsham-tc.gov.uk.

COMMUNITY TRICK OR TREATING

This Halloween, we’re excited to be organising a community Trick-or-Treat trail again this year throughout Hailsham and we’d love for you to be part of it!

Taking part on Saturday 31st of October!

The idea is simple:
• Families with children will follow a trail of participating houses.
• Any home with one of our boards outside will be part of the trail, letting children know they’re welcome to knock and collect some treats.
• To make it easy for families, we’ll also publish the list of participating addresses on social media and our website.

How it works:
✅ If you’d like to take part, we’ll deliver treats to you in advance.
✅ We’ll also provide and erect a sale board outside your home to show you’re part of the trail.
✅ There’s absolutely no cost — the whole event is completely free to join.

This is a great way to spread some Halloween fun, bring the community together, and create a safe and enjoyable experience for local children.

HAILSHAM BONFIRE CELEBRATIONS

HAILSHAM BONFIRE SOCIETY CELEBRATION is this Saturday 17 October. The Society will once again be celebrating in the town, marking the 21st anniversary of the Society reforming in 2005. It now has over 100 members, with many junior members who the Society hopes will carry the tradition forward for many years to come.

The Society has continued to make the celebrations bigger and better each year which includes welcoming an increasing number of visiting societies, as well as an impressive firework display to bring the evening to a spectacular close. This year will also see the biggest effigy ever displayed at Western Road Recreation Ground. Getting it there will present quite a challenge. The two charities to benefit from money raised on the night are Out of the Blue and Parkinson’s UK, Hailsham Branch. Programmes with the full route and timings as well as background information and sponsorship links are now available around various popular outlets in the town and will include the route and timings of each of the two processions. Road closures will be in place. The first procession leaves Vicarage Road car park at 7.30pm and runs again at 9pm finishing at Western Road recreation ground for the fireworks. Hailsham Bonfire Society work hard all year to bring this night to you, supporting local charities. Please give generously when you see a collector.

🔥🔥As you may have seen HBS Bonfire celebrations have had to re-route our procession through the town as a result of emergency gas works on Bell Banks Road🔥🔥
🔥🔥Our traditional route down Market Street and then into Bell Banks Road has unfortunately had to be changed as the road is now closed to through traffic. We have spoken with the contractor and made the decision to move the route away from the road closure🔥🔥
🔥🔥As a result we will now be using the following route:

VICTORIA ROAD
GARFIELD ROAD

🔥🔥We hope that this does not create inconvenience for those close to these areas and hope you understand our reasons for this change. Signage has been put up regarding parking, we would really appreciate if the road be kept clear however this may not be possible so if all cars are parked on the same side of the road that would be really appreciated🔥🔥
