HERSTMONCEUX CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH-ON

Traditionally tree lights are switched on at 5pm. This is the annual event that brings the community together to switch on the Christmas tree lights at Denefield, the Service Centre (outside Jenny Hooks), the tree lights down at the Merrie Harriers in Cowbeech, and Posey Green in Windmill Hill.

Herstmonceux Choir and meet the Christmas pony. There will be star gazing activities at The Brewers, puzzle games at Hooks, The Tale of the Snow Tree at the Parish Office, Christmas crafts at the Malthouse, marshmallow toasting and raffle at Geo’s. Christmas refreshments at Geo’s, the Little Bake Shop, Brewers Arms and more.

LADIES WINTER FASHION SALE

All welcome. There will be all new manufacturer’s samples from quality ladies fashion collections sizes 10 to 16 in coats, tops, trousers, skirts, blouses, knitwear, dresses and jackets. Admission £1 includes refreshments. Proceeds to Herstmonceux WI.

WARTLING CHRISTMAS FOOD & FAIR

WARTLING CHRISTMAS FOOD and Fair is on Saturday 29 November at 11am to 2pm at Reid Hall, Boreham Street, BN27 4SD. Go along for a home cooked 2 course lunch plus stalls, games, raffle and tombola. Entry is £1 or £10 with food. This event has been organised by Herstmonceux and Wartling Parish Churches. Enquiries to 07801 374831.

HAILSHAM CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH-ON

From 2pm for lights switch-on at 6pm in Vicarage Field in the Town Centre. Santa will be arriving at about 4.30pm. There will be lots going on from 2pm with many stalls and entertainment. Hailsham Choral will be singing carols from 2.30pm and Hailsham FM will be broadcasting live. There will be market stalls with festive gifts, candy floss and mulled wine, raffles and tombolas and the church will be open for hot drinks and marshmallows after the switch-on. Please note, the High Street will be closed from approximately 4pm.
