HERSTMONCEUX CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH-ON

Traditionally tree lights are switched on at 5pm. This is the annual event that brings the community together to switch on the Christmas tree lights at Denefield, the Service Centre (outside Jenny Hooks), the tree lights down at the Merrie Harriers in Cowbeech, and Posey Green in Windmill Hill.

Herstmonceux Choir and meet the Christmas pony. There will be star gazing activities at The Brewers, puzzle games at Hooks, The Tale of the Snow Tree at the Parish Office, Christmas crafts at the Malthouse, marshmallow toasting and raffle at Geo’s. Christmas refreshments at Geo’s, the Little Bake Shop, Brewers Arms and more.

LADIES WINTER FASHION SALE

All welcome. There will be all new manufacturer’s samples from quality ladies fashion collections sizes 10 to 16 in coats, tops, trousers, skirts, blouses, knitwear, dresses and jackets. Admission £1 includes refreshments. Proceeds to Herstmonceux WI.

MEET THE CHARACTERS OF CHRISTMAS

This family-friendly experience of the Christmas story, includes crafts, songs and a delicious tea. Bookings at https://hailshamparishchurch.churchsuite.com/events/quz9y0mt. Choose the time slot that suits you best. A ticket must be booked for each person attending (no need to book for babies under 1). If you or your family have any food allergies, please include details when you sign up. Please note that all children are the responsibility of parents and guardians during the event. If the event is showing as fully booked or without enough tickets available for your group, please do email your details to the church office at office@hailshamchurch.org as it is possible that they may be able to make arrangements to accommodate more guests.

CATS PROTECTION CHRISTMAS FAIR

At the Charles Hunt Centre (not the Adoption Centre)

There will be meat and veggie Sausage Rolls, tomato Soup with bread, tea, coffee, biscuits and mince pies. There will be a special Christmas chocolate tombola and a raffle drawn just after 2.30pm. There will be plenty of stalls, including cat merchandise, books and puzzles, home baked cakes and bric-a-brac as well as Christmas wreaths to buy. All those who have pre-ordered can pick up their wreaths. Hailsham Voices choir will be performing on the Day. The Adoption Centre in Marshfoot Lane, will be open if you would like to visit the cats in their care and there will also be good quality second hand cat related items to buy down at the Adoption Centre on the Day. Admission to the fair will be 50p or a donation of cat food. Sorry No Dogs allowed and please bring cash only.
